Data

Available Data from Storm Peak Laboratory

Storm Peak Laboratory uses many atmospheric science instruments, many of which are hosted for other organizations and a number of the data products are available on-line.

INSTRUMENT DATA

View Storm Peak Laboratory facility instrument data for temperature, pressure, relative humidity, wind speed, wind direction, and wind gust. Data updated every 5 minutes via MesoWest

CURRENT WEATHER CONDITIONS

Current weather conditions for Storm Peak Laboratory is also available from Meso West.

AEROSOLS

The goals of this regional-scale monitoring program are to characterize means, variability, and trends of climate-forcing properties of different types of aerosols, and to understand the factors that control these properties. The Aerosol group within the Global Monitoring Divison’s measurements also provide ground-truth for satellite measurements and global models, as well as key aerosol parameters for global-scale models. SOLAR RADIATION

The U.S. Department of Agriculture continuously monitors incoming solar radiation. This data is available at https://uvb.nrel.colostate.edu/UVB/data-download/. This link takes you to the data products page. After choosing a data product, pull down location tab and choose “Colorado, Steamboat Springs.”

CARBON DIOXIDE

The National Center for Atmospheric Research maintains the Regional Atmospheric Carbon Dioxide Network in the Rocky Mountains. A station has been located at Storm Peak Laboratory since September 2005.  In 2021 the Carbon Cycle-Greenhouse Gases group at NOAA Global Monitoring Laboratory added a Carbon Dioxide, Methane, Water Vapor and Carbon Monoxide instrument to Storm Peak Laboratory.  Data is available upon request.
