Technical Electives

Each student is required to complete 21 credits of technical electives prior to graduation.  Students are strongly encouraged to consult with an advisor to develop a group of technical electives that will help the student achieve their individual academic and career goals.  The following list of University of Utah courses has been pre-approved by the Department of Atmospheric Sciences to count as technical electives.  If a student is interested in taking a technical elective that is not on the pre-approved list, they need to make a request to the advisor PRIOR to taking the course.  The advisor will promptly evaluate the course for its suitability and inform the student as to whether the course will be accepted as a technical elective.

For course descriptions and prerequisite information, please refer to the University of Utah catalog.
