How effective is Public Transit?

New public transit rider data has been analyzed and processed by researchers Daniel Mendoza, Martin Buchert and John Lin to show how effective local public transit, such as UTA TRAX, buses, and FrontRunner, are at reducing pollutant emissions.

They were able to identify peak hours of transit use as well as the times when transit is used the least. Through these analyses, potential improvements in efficiency, number of trips, and updated engines are recommended to continue in increasing the effectiveness of public transit.
