Professor Jim Steenburgh wins alumni award from his alma mater
Professor Jim Steenburgh has been selected as the 2017 recipient of the Charles L. Hosler Alumni Scholar Medal from Pennsylvania State University's College of Earth and Mineral Sciences. He graduated from Penn State in 1989 with a B.S. in Meteorology and then in 1995 from the University of Washington with a Ph.D. in Meteorology. Professor Steenburgh has been a faculty member at the University of Utah since 1995, and served as Department Chair from 2005-2011. He is also the author of Secrets of the Greatest Snow on Earth and the popular Wasatch Weather Weenies blog. Please join our department in congratulating Professor Steenburgh on this award!
