Dr. Zhaoxia Pu will join NOAA researchers to study atmospheric patterns in Southeast Asia

Dr. Pu has received a grant from the NOAA Climate Program to study processes of atmospheric convection in the “maritime continent” region encompassing the Philippines, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, and their surroundings. An international team of researchers is conducting field observations in the maritime continent, and Pu will be among the scientists using that data to understand how weather and climate patterns interact with each other and with the continent itself.
