Derek Mallia's research on dust from a dry Great Salt Lake bed
PhD Candidate Derek Mallia's research was recently featured in the Ogden newspaper, the Standard-Examiner. Derek has been using a model he developed to determine how much impact a drier Great Salt Lake has on air quality in the Salt Lake Valley. Preliminary results indicate that bad air events could be 2-3 times as worse if the Bear River is dammed to divert water to Northern Utah.
